Frank Vaders – Stolz
The painting dates from a creative period in which the artist imbued the faces of his otherworldly figures with an overwhelming, evocative expressiveness. On the occasion of Barack Obama’s visit to Berlin on June 18, 2013, the Kannegießer/Fürth Gallery presented the then-president with a work by Frank Vaders as a gift.

Born in 1964 and currently living and working in Hamburg-Harburg, the artist received his training at the Hamburg Academy of Fine Arts. From 2000 to 2003, he lived and worked in New York, where he was discovered by the Jason McCoy Gallery—run by Jackson Pollock’s nephew and estate administrator—which immediately purchased several of his works. McCoy remains one of his collectors to this day.
Frank Vaders lived in Santo Domingo until 2003, with occasional stays in New York, Munich, and Nuremberg. In Nuremberg, he exhibited works in the exhibition “Geheimnis Mensch” at the St. Klara Open Church. In Europe, Frank Vaders’ artworks were sold to various collectors in Moscow, Tokyo, and Switzerland.
