In fact, Max-Joseph-Strasse 5 has been a top location for building contacts in Munich for over 120 years now. Before the Haus der Bayerischen Wirtschaft was established in 1997, this spot was home to the legendary Grand Hotel Continental. A luxury hotel that regularly welcomed monarchs, such as the Austrian Empress Sissi as well as well-known writers, such as Thomas Mann, Gerhart Hauptmann and Rainer Maria Rilke.
